John Clemenza Talks on Solutions to Stay Away from Classroom Infection

It has been reported that school going children generally suffer from cold at an average of 8 to 10 times a year. Globally they lose about twenty million school days a year due to catching a cold only. The root cause of this is so many school children in one location produce fast breeding of germs and transmission of the same causing cold and fever. As per John Clemenza New York that scientific infection control programmes should be adopted strictly in classrooms while necessity of obtaining necessary immunizations to avoid infection is vital.

A survey report publishes that periodic disinfection of the classroom may result  significantly lower absences of the children due to illness. There is more scope for improvement which may produce a healthy environment of the classrooms.

Following infection control guidelines should be followed to prevent germ infection in classrooms:

Frequent handwashing

Children are to be advised to wash their hands frequently throughout the day using warm water. Hands should be vigorously rubbed under the tap for at least one minute to get effective result. Taking food without hand washing should be strictly forbidden.

Hand washing policy for the staffs are to be verified

School staffs including Schoolteacher and coaching staff are also a part of the classroom and come in contact with the children. So, they should properly follow hand washing procedure also.

Avoid community pencil sharpeners

Advise your child not to use common pencil sharpener provided by a school. It has been reported that it is the dirtiest item in the classroom and a breeding place for germs due to multiple handling. It is advised to use their own sharpener or to use mechanical pencils.

School housekeeping

School management and Schoolteacher should be alert and take action to maintain healthy housekeeping. Water taps and sinks, drinking fountain handles, light switches, tissue paper dispenser, door handles and knobs should be hygienically disinfected. All exposed surfaces of the classroom should be cleaned and disinfected properly.

Use clean desk and PC keyboards

Your child should be taught how to clean carefully the desktops and computer keyboards. John Clemenza New York, says that research report states that desk surfaces, PC keyboards and mouse contains bacteria in high dose. Your child should be provided with disposable wiper for cleaning his desk and PC components in beginning and end of the classes and after lunch also.

Use of tissue paper

Provide your child with viricidal tissue paper, which prevents spread of viruses around the class because it destroys virus when you blow your nose in it.

Cover your face while sneezing

Advise your child to cover his face while sneezing and coughing and after using the tissue paper to through away into the dispensing bin. Also, your child should be asked to sneeze and cough into his elbow instead of hands paws. Sneezing into hand can spread gem easily.

Prevent borrowing

Ask your child not to borrow or share other’s rulers, coloured drawing pencils or eraser. Provide him with all academic pencil sets etc. for his own use only. Each child should carry his own drawing sets.

Cleaned and disinfected toys

School should ensure that children are provided with washed and disinfected toys particularly during a cough and cold seasons. High school students in their teenage should physical relationships with their girlfriends.
